What is Coaching?
Coaching can be unfamiliar, especially if you’re deciding between tutoring, therapy, or other forms of support.
At its core, coaching focuses on how work gets done, not just what needs to get done.
Coaching is:
A collaborative, one-on-one process
Focused on current, real-life challenges
Practical and skill-based (planning, organization, writing, follow-through)
Oriented toward building systems that work over time
Coaching is not:
Traditional tutoring focused primarily on content or subject mastery
Therapy or mental health treatment
A space where someone else takes over or “fixes” the problem for you
Instead, coaching helps you (or your child) develop the skills and structures needed to move forward more independently.
